There’s something undeniably magical about a Calamigos Ranch Wedding. Lauren and Dustin’s colorful summer brunch celebration at the Birchwood Room was the perfect example of why this venue remains one of Southern California’s most sought-after wedding destinations.
Nestled within the scenic beauty of Malibu, Calamigos Ranch provided the perfect backdrop for a day filled with vibrant florals, heartfelt moments, and unforgettable experiences for their family and friends. As the day unfolded, moments like an emotional first look and carousel rides beneath the California sun made the wedding even more special. Every detail of their wedding reflected their joyful personalities and love story.
A Romantic First Look at Calamigos Ranch
Lauren and Dustin chose to begin their wedding day with a private first look before the ceremony. These intimate moments are always some of my favorites to photograph. A first look allows couples to soak in the excitement of the day together before the festivities begin.
Surrounded by the natural beauty of Calamigos Ranch, they shared a quiet moment before officially becoming husband and wife. The anticipation, emotion, and genuine excitement between them made for some truly beautiful photographs.
An Intimate Meadow Ceremony Filled with Color
The ceremony took place in the intimate grass meadow near the Birchwood Room. Guests gathered among breathtaking floral installations designed by Dogwood Florals.
Bright, colorful blooms transformed the ceremony space into a vibrant garden setting that perfectly complemented the summer brunch theme. Lush floral arrangements framed Lauren and Dustin as they exchanged vows and created a romantic atmosphere that felt both elegant and welcoming.
A Stunning Outdoor Brunch Reception
Following the ceremony, guests were invited to the Birchwood Room’s outdoor patio for brunch. Twinkling café lights and elegant chandeliers hung overhead, creating a charming atmosphere that perfectly balanced sophistication and relaxed California style.
The colorful palette from the ceremony carried seamlessly into the reception design. Each table featured beautiful floral arrangements, while custom floral menus added a thoughtful and cohesive touch to the overall aesthetic.
One of the things I loved most about this Calamigos Ranch Wedding was how intentionally the floral theme was woven throughout every detail of the day. For example, from the save-the-dates and wedding invitations to the welcome signs, menus, place cards, ceremony florals, and brunch tablescapes, every design element felt connected. The consistency created a visually stunning experience. It also made the entire celebration feel incredibly intentional.
A Delicious Brunch Buffet
Rather than a traditional evening reception, Lauren and Dustin treated their guests to a brunch buffet featuring many of their favorite breakfast foods.
Guests enjoyed a delicious spread while mingling beneath the patio lights and taking in the beautiful surroundings. The relaxed brunch atmosphere encouraged conversation, laughter, and meaningful moments with loved ones.
A Surprise Performance from the Groom
One of the most memorable moments of the day came when Dustin surprised Lauren with a heartfelt musical performance.
Standing before their family and friends, he sang a song just for her, creating an emotional moment that left many guests reaching for tissues. Lauren’s reaction as she listened to her new husband sing was one of the highlights of the entire day.
These unexpected, personal moments are often the ones couples cherish most when they look back through their wedding gallery.
Dancing, Dessert, and Carousel Rides
After the surprise performance, Lauren and Dustin opened the dance floor and celebrated with their guests. As the afternoon continued, everyone was invited down to the lower lawn to enjoy dessert and one of Calamigos Ranch’s most iconic features—the carousel. Guests embraced the playful spirit of the celebration.

Lauren and Dustin’s Calamigos Ranch Wedding was the perfect blend of romance, color, and celebration. The stunning floral designs, intimate meadow ceremony, elegant brunch reception, and playful carousel finale created a wedding day that was both sophisticated and uniquely personal.
