A Dream Destination Wedding in Bergen, Norway
I was beyond excited to travel to Norway for Victoria and Arne’s destination wedding. It was my first time visiting this breathtaking country, and it completely exceeded all my expectations. Arriving a few days early gave me the perfect opportunity to explore Bergen. This city is full of charm, rich history, and stunning fjord views that make it an absolute dream for a wedding photographer.
During my time in the city, I stayed at the Thon Hotel Rosenkrantz. It is a cozy and stylish spot that made the perfect home base for my adventures before the big day. The view from our room of the colorful city below was incredibly picturesque and set the tone for the beautiful weekend ahead.

The Ceremony at Kongshaug Musikkgymas
Victoria and Arne’s Norwegian wedding at Kongshaug Musikkgymas was nothing short of magical. Set against the serene beauty of a local fjord, their ceremony was filled with love, beautiful music, and the kind of dreamy scenery every photographer hopes for. Victoria looked absolutely radiant in a custom dress she designed herself. She and Arne exchanged their vows surrounded by their closest family and friends.
The celebration continued with a heartwarming reception. The evening was full of touching stories, uplifting songs of praise, and lots of delicious cake. Every detail of their wedding in Bergen reflected their love and the warmth of everyone who gathered to celebrate them.
Breathtaking Bride and Groom Portraits on Mount Ulriken
The day after the wedding, we rode the Ulriken cable car to the highest mountain in Bergen. This is where we took the bride and groom portraits. The panoramic views of the city and the surrounding mountains were absolutely breathtaking. The dramatic Norwegian landscapes provided the perfect backdrop for these romantic moments.
From the stunning scenery to the unforgettable moments shared, Victoria and Arne’s destination wedding in Norway was truly a fairytale come to life. If you are dreaming of a romantic wedding in Europe, Bergen is an incredible place to say your vows. Norway Destination Wedding FAQs
What is the best time of year to get married in Norway?
The best time for a wedding in Norway depends on the scenery you want. Summer (June to August) offers long daylight hours, mild weather, and lush green fjords. If you prefer a winter wonderland with a chance to see the Northern Lights, consider planning your wedding between December and March.
Do we need a local wedding planner for a destination wedding in Bergen?
While it is possible to plan the wedding yourselves, hiring a local planner is highly recommended. A local expert will help you navigate Norwegian marriage legalities, coordinate with local vendors, and manage logistics in remote fjord locations.
Can foreigners legally get married in Norway?
Yes, foreigners can legally marry in Norway. You will need to submit specific documentation to the Norwegian Tax Administration ahead of time to receive a certificate of no impediment to marriage. Many couples choose to handle the legal paperwork in their home country and hold a symbolic ceremony in Norway to simplify the process.
