A Dream Villa Del Sol D’Oro Wedding for High School Sweethearts
Some love stories are simply meant to be. Samantha and Ryan’s Villa Del Sol D’Oro Wedding was the perfect celebration of a relationship that began as high school sweethearts and blossomed into a lifelong love story. Recently featured in California Wedding Day’s Spring/Summer 2026 issue, their wedding was a breathtaking blend of timeless romance, Tuscan-inspired elegance, and meaningful personal touches.
As a wedding planner herself, Samantha at To Be Loved Events had spent years dreaming about her own wedding day. Every detail was thoughtfully curated to create an unforgettable experience for their guests while perfectly reflecting the couple’s love story.
An Intimate Welcome Dinner Beneath the Trees
The celebrations began after the rehearsal with an intimate welcome dinner at Villa Del Sol D’Oro. Beneath the canopy of mature trees, guests gathered around one beautifully styled long table adorned with elegant place settings, glowing candlelight, and lush floral arrangements.
The relaxed evening gave family and friends a chance to connect before the wedding day and offered a stunning preview of the incredible design that awaited everyone the following day.
A Tuscan-Inspired Villa Del Sol D’Oro Wedding Design
Inspired by the romance of the Italian countryside, Samantha and Ryan envisioned a warm, soft color palette that felt both elegant and timeless. Their floral design by Primrose and Petals featured some of Samantha’s favorite blooms, including white peonies, ranunculus, and lush garden roses. Every installation complemented the historic beauty of Villa Del Sol D’Oro, creating a romantic atmosphere throughout the property.
Getting Ready Inside the Villa
The morning began inside the Villa’s elegant bridal suite, where Samantha got ready surrounded by her bridesmaids, her mom, and her mother-in-law. One of the sweetest moments of the morning was when Samantha gifted both mothers custom script handkerchiefs, creating an emotional keepsake they’ll treasure forever.
Before the ceremony, Samantha shared an unforgettable first look with her grandmother, followed by another emotional reveal with her father. Meanwhile, Ryan spent the morning in the Villa’s historic library with his dad. Together they shared a quiet whiskey toast, taking a moment to celebrate everything that had led them to this day.
A Private First Look and Personal Vows
Before guests arrived, Samantha and Ryan met in the Villa courtyard for an intimate first look. Away from the excitement of the day, they exchanged private cards filled with heartfelt promises before taking a few romantic portraits together on the iconic Villa staircase. These quiet moments often become some of the most meaningful memories of a wedding day, allowing couples to fully soak in the significance of the occasion before the celebration begins.
A Romantic Garden Ceremony
Their ceremony space was nothing short of breathtaking. A lush floral arch framed the altar while fresh rose petals lined the aisle, creating a truly romantic setting.
As guests arrived, they were welcomed with one of the most unique interactive guest book ideas—a vintage telephone where loved ones could leave heartfelt voice messages for the newlyweds to listen to long after the wedding day.
Samantha looked absolutely stunning walking down the aisle in her flowing gown and dramatic cathedral veil, making for one of the most unforgettable ceremony entrances.
Cocktail Hour with Thoughtful Details
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails in a beautifully designed lounge space complete with a custom bar and plenty of cozy seating. Every detail reflected Samantha’s impeccable eye for design, including one of our favorite elements of the day: the seating chart. Each guest found their table assignment on a bottle of olive oil featuring their name and table number beneath the playful phrase: “We Love Olive You“ It was both a beautiful display and a meaningful keepsake guests could take home.
An Italian-Inspired Reception at Villa Del Sol D’Oro
The reception truly transported guests to the Italian countryside. Long reception tables were filled with overflowing floral arrangements, towering candles, ornate white dinnerware, blush silk napkins, custom menus, and personalized name cards.
Every table felt luxurious yet inviting, perfectly complementing the architecture and gardens of Villa Del Sol D’Oro. It was honestly one of the most stunning reception designs we’ve ever had the privilege of photographing.
Cake Before Dinner? Why Not!
One of our favorite parts of the evening was Samantha and Ryan’s decision to cut and serve their wedding cake before dinner.
Instead of saving dessert until the very end of the night, guests enjoyed this fun and unexpected moment early in the reception—a wonderful reminder that weddings don’t have to follow tradition if another timeline better reflects your personalities.
Dancing, Toasts & Golden Hour Portraits
As dinner concluded, Samantha and Ryan shared their first dance surrounded by their closest family and friends before listening to heartfelt toasts celebrating their journey together.
As the sun began to set, we slipped away for a few final portraits throughout the Villa gardens. The warm golden light perfectly complemented the romantic Tuscan-inspired aesthetic and created some of our favorite images from the entire day.
