I’ve been sitting on these images for a while, and I’m so glad they’re finally out in the world. We shot this boho love story at Triunfo Creek Vineyards, a 55-acre private estate tucked into Malibu Valley between the Santa Monica Mountains and the road to the coast. It later became the inspiration for our Triunfo Creek Vineyards editorial. It was one of my favourite days as a wedding photographer in Ventura County, and the creative team we pulled together made every hour feel easy. For a real wedding at the same property, see Ashley and Kyle’s full Triunfo Creek wedding.

A Romantic Wedding Inspired by Boho Elegance
The concept for this shoot was simple: a loose, sun-warmed afternoon on the vineyard with details that felt personal rather than polished. The property sits on rolling hills above the Malibu Valley floor, surrounded by California oak, sycamore, and eucalyptus trees, so the setting did a lot of the heavy lifting. We leaned into warm earth tones, loose florals, and that golden-hour light you only get in Southern California. It felt intimate from the start.
Amanda and Josh Patrick wore their personalities into every part of the day. Amanda’s lace Dreamers and Lovers gown moved beautifully in the breeze, and Josh’s Stitch and Tie tuxedo kept things sharp without feeling stiff. The Bloemist built the florals around pink roses, blue delphinium, and soft wildflowers. Dolce Vintage Rentals showed up with a mint Vespa and a powder-blue Fiat, and honestly those two props gave us some of my favourite frames of the whole shoot.
Collaborating with Ventura County’s Best Wedding Creatives
Good styled shoots run on good collaboration, and this one had it in abundance, much like our Pretty Project Workshop the following year. Forrest and J put together the bohemian tablescape using rentals from Pretty Vintage Rentals, with table settings from Blu and 503 Found. Frost it Cakery made the desserts look too good to eat. Shop Skout brought in velvet and woven pillows that turned the lounge area into something out of a daydream. Every vendor brought their best work, and it showed.
Kelly Balch filmed throughout the day, capturing the behind-the-scenes energy that still photos can’t always hold. Blush by M. Marie did hair and makeup for Amanda and her bridesmaids, Brooke Borough and Paige Bach, keeping everything soft and natural. Song and Pen handled the calligraphy and stationery, and the hexagonal name cards with gold lettering were some of the prettiest detail shots I’ve taken.
Susie Saltzman Jewelry made the wedding rings, and Gorjana supplied the rest of the jewelry. Black Label Decor added small bespoke touches like the hangers and cutouts that gave the getting-ready shots a lot of character. It’s the kind of shoot where you turn around and there’s a beautiful detail waiting in every corner.
Why Choose Lisa Leanne Photography for Your Wedding?
I photograph high-end weddings across Ventura County and Southern California, and my approach hasn’t changed much since I started: get close to the real moments, stay out of the way when you need to, and bring genuine attention to the details that couples actually care about. This shoot was a good reminder of why I love the work. The vineyard light, the flowers, the joy between Amanda and Josh. It all came together in a way that felt honest. The Malibu wine country has some of the most photogenic terrain in California, and Triunfo Creek sat right at the heart of it.
