It started at a cozy Airbnb in Agoura Hills, where Kristen and her girls got ready surrounded by good light and a lot of laughter. From there we moved out to the vineyard for the ceremony beneath the oak trees, and that’s where everything really came together. Every part of the day felt thought-through, and it showed in every frame. A Romantic Wedding at Triunfo Creek Vineyards
Triunfo Creek Vineyards is one of my favourite places to shoot a wedding in Malibu, and it was also the setting for a Boho Love Story styled shoot I photographed there earlier. The vineyard rows run along the hillsides, and on a clear day you can see all the way across the Santa Monica Mountains. Kristen and Marc picked it for the quiet and the golden afternoon light, both of which delivered. That warm, low sun in the late afternoon is genuinely hard to replicate anywhere else in Southern California.
The ceremony itself was held under one of the big oak trees near the vineyard, with guests seated on white chairs in the grass. The canopy of branches overhead did something the best ceremony arches can’t quite match. It was quiet in a way that made every word land, and Kristen and Marc both looked completely present the whole time.
Unforgettable Moments and Beautiful Details
Marc’s reaction at the first look was the kind of moment that makes me love this job. He turned around, saw Kristen, and just lit up. No acting, no posing. Those few seconds before a couple collects themselves are always my favourite to photograph, and this one was right up there.
The floral work from LA Floral Couture was all soft whites and loose greenery, which sat perfectly against the dry golden hillsides. Blushing Beauty handled hair and makeup, and the results were natural and fresh all day long. Modern Charm Events kept everything running on time without it ever feeling rushed. Vox DJ kept the dance floor going, and Command Performance Catering fed everyone well into the night.
